watched Red Cliff over the w/end n, my oh my, i cudn't recognize the story at all!!! its sooooo different from the story book ver tat its like its own story....^$%^%^$ changing a few details i'm still ok, but sme of it are completely different, if not blatantly changed... like,
since bloody when is zhou-yu n zhuge liang mates??... the hate e/o, or rather, zhou-yu hates zhuge, simply for being smarter than him...he tried to kill him more than once in the events leading to the battle... the lending of arrows was the 1st. the other was the timing of the east wind, which was changed in the movie. in fact, zhou-yu was eventually killed by zhuge, literally 被气死的!
sun shang xiang (zhao-wei) n xiao qiao (lin chi-ling) was nvr involved in the battle or any events leading up to it... guess they just needed eye candies to perk up an otherwise all guy cast....
zhou yu actually tried to kill zhuge after his prediction of the timing of the east wind proved correct. but zhuge predicted this move n escaped before the soldiers cud get to him... omited in the movie of cos... tony leong has a 'no bad guy role' in is contract...hmmm...
in the movie, when xiao qiao set off to cao cao's camp in order to buy time for the wu-shu troops, huang-gai (the old general) was screaming at zhou-yu to make up any damn excuse n give him 50 lashes so he cud fake a surrender to cao cao's side to sabotage his ships, zhou-yu brushed him off... in the actual story, he was given the 50 lashes n faked a surrender, n managed to saboed cao cao's ships.

cao cao wasnt let off by zhou yu. in fact he was just a whisker of being killed, after being chased after by the shu n wu troops, his every trick twarted by the ever brilliant zhuge kong ming. only to be set free by guan-yu in the final stage... which, btw, is also part of zhuge's grand plan.
such a let down for a great story. i was really anticipating a much much better movie than this.....
has it been more than a year already... wow, time sure flies, but at least it was a crap year tat flew by hehe so i aint tat sad abt it...
ok, one of the resolutions this year(along with the usual cut smoke n drink crap) is to blog more often, easier now tat i got a lappy now hehe. yes, the dinosaur has evolved!!! n yes, gotta exercise more also.... bought the damn wii fit since may n i think i only used it for the 1st mth or so... better chk if the damn battery's leaking.....
highlight of the year has got to be the trip to siem reap... bloody beautiful place to be in. n CHEAP!!! gonna make another trip this year is possible, cos i missed out on 2 off the beaten track sites... the 0.75usd beer is a puller too hehe
